The Masonic Order of Athelstan in England, Wales and its Provinces Overseas

Province of East Anglia

PGM's blog - January 2020

I trust that you have all now recovered from the excesses of the Festive Period and are looking forward to the new decade with renewed optimism.

After last year’s managerial changes within the Province, your Provincial Executive are looking forward to a year of development and consolidation.

Our first Court meeting is on the 18th January where the Court of Herbert de Losigna No 31 will have two new “Instructees”. I am very much looking forward to my visit there, to see the Court team in action. If you have never been to King’s Lynn, why don’t you come along and join me. You will be most welcome.

I believe that the Court of AElfred No 2, have three new “Instructees” in the pipeline for March. Following on from the six new members last year. This is quite a feat. Well done.

The Court of Anglecynn No 11, have a re-joining member in the pipeline as well. Great news.

The most exciting news is the proposed new Court in Cambridge, which is expected to be known as “The Court of Keith Ansell at Grantebrycge”. For those who are unaware of his name, Keith was the Primus Provincial Grand Master of East Anglia, and the first recorded member of the Order. His number was 001. Without his foresight and commitment, we would not have this wonderful Order that we enjoy today. You will hear much more about his Masonic career in due course.

After the success of our Provincial Meeting last year, we will once again have our meeting at Bury St Edmunds on 26thSeptember this year. Please put the date in your diaries.

I have been warmly welcomed wherever I have visited and I look forward to meeting you all again over the coming months.

Yours sincerely and fraternally

Alex Allan
