PGM's blog - December 2020

Brethren, whilst there is still no end in sight to the Covid-19 pandemic, there is encouraging news regarding the various vaccines being trialled. I trust that you are all well and still taking care during these uncertain times.

So far, we have had no reported cases of Covid-19 within our membership in the Province. Let us hope that in the coming months we can continue reporting this good news.

As you have already been informed, on Friday 20th of November, a virtual meeting of the Grand Witan was convened to discuss the current suspension, which was due to expire on 1st January 2021. The unanimous view of the Grand Witan reflected, that the current suspension of Masonic activities within the Masonic Order of Athelstan in England and Wales must be extended to midnight on Sunday 28th February 2021.

The Friday 16.15 hrs “Zoom into Athelstan East Anglia” continues to get great support as does the Herbert de Losigna Court Zoom meeting, every Tuesday, with the PGM’s weekly “poser” giving rise to some promising “Papers” for the future. These research questions have hopefully fired the imagination of budding lecturers.

For information on the upcoming King Athelstan Virtual 5K please check out the Athelstan YouTube Channel and the Athelstan Website. I have already signed up. If I can, so can you!!

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, but please be careful, if you are meeting up with friends and family over the festive season, as it may be an extremely dangerous time, with the virus still very much in our midst.

I look forward to the day when we can all meet up again and enjoy our fantastic Order together.

In the meantime, please look after yourselves, and your families, and I will be in touch again in due course.

Do not forget to Zoom in and have a laugh with your likeminded Brethren.

Yours sincerely and fraternally
Alex Allan
