PGM's blog - May 2021

Brethren, whilst there are signs that the Covid-19 pandemic is coming under control, I suspect that there is still a long way to go, before we can meet again “face to face”, especially if the “Indian Variant” is proved to be more transmissible than the “Kent Variant”. Leicester and Bedford appear to have a major problem, yet again.

However, we must plan for better times ahead and adjust our planning accordingly, if things do not improve. The Order is still suspended until 31st August 2021, but there is a Grand Witan meeting scheduled for the 14th of June when I am sure that the suspension date will be re-assessed. At present, your Provincial Executive will continue to plan for our Provincial Grand Court Meeting to go ahead on the 25th of September at Bury St Edmunds. We will review this on a monthly basis and keep you updated.

We are still planning for the Consecration of the Court of Keith Ansell at Grantebrycge No 150 to take place in Leicester on the 29th of October 2021, the day before Grand Court. What an event that should be. If you can make it, please join us.

Your Provincial Grand Secretary Worshipful Brother Eddie Moore continues to update all members of any important communications from Grand Court, so I will not repeat them here. Eddie has also updated the Provincial Yearbook and it is available for downloading on the Provincial Website. For those who have not yet seen the Grand Master’s latest presentation on the Order’s YouTube channel, please do so, as it is well worth watching.

Across the Province the various “Zoom” meetings are still being well supported and are a great way of keeping in touch with, and supporting, your fellow Brethren during this difficult period.
I look forward to the day when we can all meet up again and enjoy our fantastic Order together.

In the meantime, please look after yourselves, and your families, and I will be in touch again in due course.

Do not forget to Zoom in and have some “light-hearted banter” with your likeminded Brethren.

Yours sincerely and fraternally

Alex Allan
